The 2010 International Workshop on Science and Engineering Education (IWSEE 2010) affiliated with TWELF 2010 will be held on Oct. 22-23, 2010 at Asia University, Taichung, Taiwan. IWSEE 2010 aims to address the state-of-the-art approaches for science and engineering education. The scientists, engineers and practitioners in different disciplines can present and exchange ideas, results and experiences in their areas for various prominent theory and applications.

APTEL2010 provides a forum for researchers who study technology enhanced learning to publish research findings and exchange experiences in conducting related projects. The main theme of this year’s APTEL is Technology Enhanced Language Learning. Best papers will be invited for submission to the following journals. Knowledge Management & E-Learning: An International Journal (KM&EL), International Journal of Digital Learning Technology, Educational Technology & Society.

Like any other modern, forward-looking and technologically advanced nation, Taiwan has realised the current and future importance of electronic learning – now commonly referred to as ‘e-learning’. Bearing this in mind, some years ago, the Taiwanese government introduced a number of initiatives that were intended to promote the development and uptake of this important approach to learning, training and knowledge dissemination.These initiatives were embedded within a national framework for electronic learning called the National Science and Technology Program for e-Learning (ELNP).

Call for Participation-TELDAP International Conference 2010

The Taiwan e-Learning and Digital Archives Program (TELDAP) International Conference 2010 in conjunction with Museum Computer Network(MCN) Taiwan Meeting will be held at the Building of Humanities and Social Sciences, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan from Tuesday March 2 until Thursday March 4 2010. The conference is organized by International Collaboration and Promotion of Taiwan e-Learning & Digital Archives Program.

The 2009 Pacific Neighborhood Consortium (PNC) Annual Conference and Joint Meetings TELearn 2009 Conference (Technology Enhanced Learning) has successfully held from 6 to 8 October 2009 at Academia Sinica in Taipei. TELearn is an interdisciplinary conference of learning and technology that aims to develop issues about improving learning effect with technology and the main theme for this year’s conference is “Social Computing in e-Learning”.

The Principal Investigator, Nian-Shing Chen, signed the contract of digital learning with Athabasca University in Canada on the behalf of Taiwan e-Learning and Digital Archives Program

The domestic Mandarin digital learning team, Taipei Representative in Germany, Wu-Lian Way, the Director of Affairs, Zhi-Gun Zheng and the Director of Culture, Li-Quan Xie contacted Professor Mechthild Leutner, Dr. Andreas Guder, and Dr. Wedigo de Vivanco and Mr. Gottfried Gugold from Free University Berlin for Mandarin digital learning exchanging and collaboration.

In order to understand more about digital learning and Mandarin e-learning in US and Canada, the project supported the Director Qian and several technology companies to have a business trip for the exposition of the educational technology and the market in Canada from the end of June to the beginning of July.

Professor Chen from National Taiwan Normal University and Associate Professor Liu leaded the ENO Team to Finland to attend SciFest 2009 from April 12th to 22th. The ENO Team held two workshops, which were Chinese Knot Bookmarker and Chinese Knot Bracelet, in SciFest 2009 for teachers and students to exchange ideas.
